Suturing events take place throughout the year and are tailored to specific phases of the curriculum.
These sessions are both for teaching suturing skills and practicing those skills for students nearing finals. The sessions use suturing pads as well as real animal tissue and are taught by a range of doctors.
On the 19th November we had our first suturing event of the academic year, with two sessions run in the Surgical Training Centre in UHCW. The sessions that ran were a beginners and intermediate session, which allowed students who had never sutured before to learn how to master basic sutures, while those with a little background to advance their suturing.
Keep an eye out for future suturing events running this year!
