So You Want to be a Surgeon?

The Surgical Careers Series is a series of evenings which explore what being a surgeon involves.

The sessions allow opportunities to gain insight into surgical specialities through talks from surgeons, as well as interactive and practical workshops where students can have a go themselves. These evenings provide a chance to chat with and ask any questions to the surgeons, a fantastic networking opportunity!

In addition to this, there is also an application session being held in order to provide support to those apply to ?

Careers Talk Series

Are you interested in a career in surgery? Want to learn more about life as a surgeon? Are you considering surgery, but curious about work-life balance? Do you enjoy free snacks and wine?

...Then come to the first talk in the Surgical Careers Series hosted by WMS Surgical Society. The evening will feature talks by surgeons of multiple specialties and all levels of training. Hear how they managed their careers and what you can be doing now to start yours.

So You Want To Be A Surgeon Series returns with a specialty night for Trauma and Orthopaedics!

This event will feature:

- Talks from 6 (TBC) T&O surgical trainees
- Complementary wine and snacks
- Practical session with demonstration surgical devices

Speciality night: General Surgery
Careers Talk Series - Wednesday 14th March

The Warwick Surgical Society General Surgery night aims to increase awareness and interest in general surgery. Half of the night will involve interactive talks about careers in Upper GI, Colorectal and Vascular Surgery, followed by practical sessions giving you the opportunity to learn and practice some basic surgical skills.

 

If you would like to know more about what a career in the listed specialties involves, or surgical careers in general, this is the evening for you. Expect to learn more about career paths, pros and cons of the role and what you should be doing now to be successful. There will be plenty of opportunities to make connections with people from various surgical specialties. Food and drink will be provided, and there is no charge for attendance.
